Charlotte Auto Fee Rebate for the Elderly

Charlotte residents may qualify for an auto fee rebate if they meet the following criteria. Note: Taxes must be paid in order to receive the rebate of half the auto fee. The application must be filed within 30 days of the tax due date.

• Must be 65 or older in the month in which the automobile registration expires

• Disposable income does not exceed $33,800

Disposable income includes, but is not limited to, all monies received from Social Security, retirement funds, and dividends for the prior year, per Charlotte City Ordinance 13-47 and North Carolina General Statute §105-134.5.
