Antique Automobile Exclusion

County residents who own an antique automobile may be eligible for a tax exclusion if the automobile meets the criteria listed below.

County residents who own an antique automobile may be eligible for a tax exclusion if the automobile meets the following criteria. The automobile must be assessed at the lower of its true value or $500. The application, or any appeal of initial value, must be filed within 30 days of the date taxes are due.

Requirements

  • The vehicle is registered with the DMV and has a historic vehicle license plate.
  • Is maintained primarily for use in exhibitions, club activities and other public interest functions.
  • Is used only on occasion for other purposes.
  • Is owned by an individual.
  • Is used by an owner for a purpose other than the production of income and is not used in connection with a business.
