The Mecklenburg County Assessor’s Office is responsible for the discovery, listing and assessment of all County real and personal property. In addition, the office offers many property tax resources, including tax relief programs to qualified property owners.   

File Now: Personal Property Listing Period for 2026 is Open

Business personal property and individual personal property listings should be filed between Jan. 1 - Feb. 2, 2026. 

Taxscribe for online listings will remain open after  Feb. 2 to allow for late listings* through June 30, 2026.  

Need more time? File an extension online by Feb. 2 to receive an April 15 due date on your personal property listing.

*Late listings are subject to a penalty of 10% on taxes due.
